27th July 2010

Cumbria Probation Trust is pleased to celebrate the contributions made by staff at it's first annual awards presentation today.

Cumbria Probation Trust Headquarters at Wetheral was the venue for the Trust's first annual staff awards event. Following the Trust Board meeting on Tuesday 27 July 2010 the Director of Offender Management for the North West of England, Caroline Marsh, presented the awards to the successful candidates in recognition of their achievements.

Chief Executive, Annette Hennessy was delighted with the response to the Reward and Recognition Scheme and congratulated all of the winners. "This is a new scheme for Cumbria Probation Trust and I am extremely pleased with the number of high quality nominations received. In addition to the annual winners, there have been a number of staff who received awards throughout the year for their outstanding efforts and dedication to the work of the Trust."

Employee of the Year was awarded to Noreen Arrowsmith, a Probation Service Officer who is based in Workington and has worked for Cumbria Probation for more than 15 years. Noreen has recently been developing future provision for female offenders in Cumbria.

This group of staff arrange work projects and supervise the offenders undertaking the work as part of a Community Order.

The award for Lifetime Commitment was made to Audrey Albon, a Probation Officer who is based in Workington. Audrey has worked as a Probation Officer for almost 30 years.
