The National Offender management Service (NOMS) is a law enforcement agency that exists to supervise offenders in the community and help them lead law abiding lives.  It is separated into 35 probation trusts Cumbria being one of them.

The main aims of the National Offender Management Service are:

  1. to protect the public
  2. reduce re-offending
  3. the proper punishment of offenders in the community
  4. ensuring offenders awareness of the effects of crime on victims and communities
  5. the rehabilitation of offenders

Cumbria Probation Trust seeks to actively meet these aims.
