Appointed Justice of the Peace in 1978 and has served at Lytham, Fleetwood and Barrow (since 2002) Magistrates Courts in both Adult and Youth Courts.

 Ms Annette Hennessy (Chief Executive) Annette Hennessy joined the Probation Service in 1981 in Lancashire. She has worked as a Probation Officer in Blackpool, Blackburn, and in HMP Lancaster. In addition she was a manager in Blackpool and in the Training Unit before joining Cumbria Probation Service as an Assistant Chief Officer in 2001. In July 2008 Annette was appointed as Chief Officer for Cumbria.
Annette has led on domestic violence in Cumbria for the past seven years, on the Domestic Violence Strategic Management Board which has successfully implemented the co-ordinated community response to domestic violence.
 Dr Jack Abernethy O.B.E. Retired in 2005 after 27 years working for B.N.F.L. at Sellafield as a research chemist, plant manager and latterly as a change facilitator", helping management and unions introduce improved ways of working. Awarded O.B.E. in 1995 for services to the environment.
Born and bred in Cockermouth. Appointed as magistrate to Cockermouth Bench in 1985 and still serving on West Allerdale and Keswick Bench and West Cumbria Family Panel.
Jack was a member of Cumbria Probation Board from April 2007 - March 2010 and was appointed to Cumbria Probation Trust Board - April 2010.
 Mr Chris Armstrong Born in Carlisle, Chris is a solicitor, who until early retirement in 2009, was Clerk to the Justices for Cumbria. He is a strong believer in partnership working and in the importance of Cumbria as a model for delivery of joined-up justice services. As Justices' Clerk, he worked closely with Cumbria Probation, parrticularly in promoting closer liaison between probation staff and magistrates, and in drafting the successful protocol for enforcement of community orders. Since retirement, he has taken on the role of co-ordinator for "Local Crime, Community Sentence", a project in which magistrates and probation staff visit community groups to explain how community sentences can be particularly effective in reducing offending. Chris was a member of the Council of the Justices' Clerks' Society, chairman of its Sentencing Committee and, in 2008-09, its national President. During his time on JCS Council, he was a member of the working group that drafted the Magistrates' Court Sentencing Guidelines.
 Mr Phil Cottrill Phil Cottrill is a newly appointed Board Member, having recently retired from a career in private sector industry. His background was mainly in the textile industry where he held senior management positions He moved with his family to Cumbria in 1986 to become manufacturing manager for Kangol Ltd in West Cumbria and latterly Export Director, a position which gave him worldwide commercial experience.
The last 8 years were spent at Sellafield Ltd where he worked in Infrastructure as Head of Active Area Services. Phil is also a Board Member of Two Castles Housing Association based in Carlisle and Newcastle.
Phil has a Masters Degree in Business and Manufacturing Technology and brings his commercial and strategic experience to the Board of Cumbria Probation Trust.
 Mr Mark Cutter Anthony Mark Cutter is a Barrister, Mediator, Arbitor and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA) and is employed as a Senior Lecturer in Ethics, Governance and Law at the Centre for Professional Ethics, University of Central Lancashire. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Berkeley Electronic Press journal Studies in Ethics, Law and Technology and the Springer book series The International Library of Ethics Law and Technology. His areas of academic research include ethics and law of technology, equality and criminal justice. He has directed two projects funded by the Economic and Social Research Council that focus on the work of the probation service. He is also a Governor of the Royal National College for the Blind.
 Dr Joe Hendry In addition to being a member of the Cumbria Probation Trust Board, Joe Hendry is a Councillor in Carlisle West; Chair of the Governors of Morton Secondary School; Board Member of Riverside Carlisle Housing Association; Senior Governor of Yendale School, Carlisle; a Trustee of the Citizens Advice Bureau; Member of the Management Comm - Yendale Community Centre; Member of Carlisle Educational Trust; Member of Solway Firth Regeneration Committee; Visiting Professor at Strathclyde Business School. Formerly Director of Arts, Libraries, Adult Education and Heritage in Cumbria Joe Hendry is a teacher, writer and visiting Professor at Strathclyde Business School.
 Mr Mike Little Chartered Engineer retired from Senior Management in Border/Granada TV as Head of Operations & Engineering in 2003. Appointed a Magistrate in February 1984. Chairman in Family and Youth Courts. Past Chairman of Cumbria MCC. Past Chairman of Carlisle & District Bench 2003 - 2008. Chairman of Carlisle Housing Association. Chairman of North Cumbria NHS Acute Hospitals Trust.
 Mrs Kate Rowley Kate Rowley is a former police officer who was stationed in Kendal, Penrith and Carlisle. During her service she was predominately attached to the Criminal Investigation Department with responsibility for Drug investigations and Child protection issues before taking up a full time role as Chair of the Cumbria Police Federation. She was awarded the Queens Police Medal in 2000.
