Official notice that Cumbria Probation Trust accounts are available for inspection

NOTICE OF ELECTORS’ RIGHTS
Audit Commission Act 1998

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that from Monday 14th May 2012 to Wednesday 6th June 2012 inclusive between 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. any person interested may inspect and make copies of the accounts of Cumbria Probation Trust for the year ended 31st March 2012 and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating thereto. The accounts and other documents will be available for inspection at the offices at which they are normally kept; application should be made to the Treasurer to the Board, Cumbria Probation Trust, Probation Headquarters, Magistrates Court, Rickergate, Carlisle CA3 8XP. Telephone 03000 47 3750.

NOTICE is also given that on or after Wednesday 6th June 2012 until completion of the audit, the Auditor will give any local government elector for the area to which the accounts relate, or their representative, an opportunity to question him about the accounts. Any such elector or their representative may attend before the Auditor and make objections as to any matter in respect of which the Auditor could take action under section 17 of the Act (namely, an unlawful item of account); or as to any other matter in respect of which the Auditor could make a report in the public interest under Section 8 of the Act.

Questions should be addressed to Ms. Gina Martlew, District Auditor, Audit Commission, c/o Cumbria County Council, Lower Gaol Yard, The Courts, Carlisle, CA3 8NA. No objection may be made unless the Auditor has previously received written notice of the proposed objection and its grounds. A copy of such notice must be sent to the Cumbria Probation Trust at the address below:
